Classes for New Parents


Becoming a new parent is a wild and exciting journey, filled with love and wonder and also lots of new challenges. Let us help you navigate this season of life with your newborn through specialized classes with interactive hands-on learning designed to help you gain confidence in caring for your child and thriving in the pospartum period of life.

Breastfeeding and Newborn Care Basics led by Lowcountry Childbirth: In this two hour class, learn the fundamentals of breastfeeding your baby and all the most important skills to have when caring for your new baby, including:

  1. Benefits of breastfeeding your baby

  2. How to ensure adequate milk supply

  3. How to prevent or treat common challenges

  4. Pumping and storing milk

  5. Bottle and syringe feeding basics

  6. Access to tons of resources and local support

  7. Diapering and how to prevent and treat diaper rash

  8. Swaddling, Baby Wearing and creating a safe sleep environment

  9. Feeding, burping and how to soothe a fussy baby

  10. Infant Sleep Solutions

Free Mom Circle: Held every Thursday morning at 10:00 am at The Schoolhouse office in West Ashley

Newborn School Led by Lactation Station and More: Starting Thursday March 5th at 12:30-2pm.

-An 8 week guided series for new moms and babies (0-12 weeks).

-Learn from perinatal experts, build real community, and feel supported.

-This series brings together a small consistent group of moms and babies in a supportive and judgement free space where you can learn, connect and grow in confidence as a new parent.
